Commissions
How I undertake commissions
In general, I have found the way to achieve the best outcome for a client is to:
1. Visit the home to identify the feel and surrounding of the piece to be made.
2. Make a drawing of the design without too much detailing.
3. Select the woods and materials.
4. Make a small model so that some of the dimensions are established.
5. Make a full scale model with more detail and iron out any proportional difficulties.
6. At this stage we are now ready to proceed and a 50% deposit is requested.
7. During the making process the client may wish to visit the workshop.
8. The piece is generally completed in three months.
9. Copious amounts of champagne are then consumed!
My ultimate purpose is to create something that my clients will love and enjoy possessing for many years.
